Dr. Edmond Fernandes appointed as member – district disaster management authority’s Health task force. The health task force is appointed to address disaster management and mitigation activities pertaining to public health and is chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of the District with District Health Officer being Member – Secretary. Dr. Edmond has worked previously in Typhoon Yolanda in Philippines and also in Chennai Floods rendering medical relief and humanitarian support. Dr. Edmond Fernandes is the Founder and CEO, of CHD Group , a public health organization working on disaster risk reduction, urban health and public policy.
