When it comes to India’s public health systems, the will of the people and the will of Parliament is not in sync. The electorate take into account a vast number of factors which have nothing to do with shaping health systems while electing representatives. That’s why India’s government hospitals are struggling, remain cockroach infested zones and survive with crumbling infrastructure. That’s why social protection is absent from the dictionary of policy makers for India’s health safeguards.
