Soulaima Gourani is a published author and corporate leader based in California, United States whose books have tickled a new dimension of human imagination and creativity. Much of Gourani’s writings have focused on professional life design, future readiness and courage, a departure from mainstream story telling and generalization. Having written over 14 books, there are few that distinctly stand out.
Among them, her major work includes Tag magten over din karriere (Take Control of Your Career), published in 2009, which encourages readers to take personal accountability for their careers rather than waiting for employers or circumstances to determine their direction.
Her second major Danish book, Mod tilsucces (Courage to Succeed), appeared in 2014 and explores courage, setbacks, uncertainty and the psychological barriers that prevent people from pursuing ambitious goals. Gourani has described that she wrote the book partly to share how she personally deals with doubt, mistakes and failures, arguing that setbacks can become important sources of education and personal growth.
Another important title is Ignite Your Career: The New Grads Bible, aimed particularly at students, graduates and young professionals entering the workplace. The book provides career-oriented guidance for building professional confidence, finding opportunities and navigating the early stages of working life; according to Gourani's biographical profile, it was downloaded or sold in more than 350,000 copies, making it one of her most widely distributed works.
Her later book, Design din fremtid: Spot de relevante trends, ogskab din egenpladsifremtidenssamfund (Design Your Future), published in 2019, represents a shift from conventional career advice toward future-oriented life and career design. Its central proposition is that individuals should understand emerging social, technological and economic trends and deliberately create their own place in the future rather than passively adapting to change. Danish publisher Gyldendal describes the book around the idea that the future is coming and that people should design their own lives before somebody else does it for them.
In addition to these principal books, Gourani has worked on number of English-language and digital works, including Networking for Underdogs: The Ambitionairy's Guide to Networking: Big Dreams on a Small Budget, Meeting Black Belt: Run Meetings People Can't Wait to Attend, Nail Your Public Speech: Essential Steps for New and Aspiring Speakers, Re-pot Your Life: Like Plants, You Need Fresh Soil to Grow, Duck Tape& Prayers: The 8% Percent Rule for Winning at All Odds, and Selling It in the Age of AI: A Playbook for Modern Sales Success;
Gourani’s genre of writing most suites young professionals, entreprenuers, women in leadership and students who are trying hard everyday to build themselves. Instead of posturing success simply through financial narratives, Soulaima emphasizes the values of resilience, networking, constant learning and prudence.
The next forthcoming volume is Unready: The Surprising Advantage of Acting Before You Feel Ready to be published by Wiley Publications, due for 2026.
