People engaged in acts of cruelty fail in the exam of life

In an age of anger, integrity reigns supreme. For many people today, integrity, culture, values mean little as they merely exist. It is extremely difficult to come across people with empathy and compassion which are usually a very highly evolved state of being. I strongly believe when someone’s journey in this world is marked by acts of cruelty, deceit, lies they fail the exam of life. Education may give you a degree, may help you pass an examination, can help you secure a job, but the real examination is how you live, how civil you behave and what are the values you carry with you. This naturally reflects in your daily activities, the way you work, your engagement in public and private places and revolves largely around integrity. Those with money can buy a lot of things, but what they cannot buy is respect, integrity, character which has to be earned and can never be purchased.

The power of moral conscience

Many people today are chasing materialistic things often blinded by reason, influenced by others, filled with pursuits of greed, hatred and vengeance. They stoop to any extent to relentlessly pursue acts of cruelty not understanding that a superior power controls the balance of the universe. They function with the animal brain with only basic instincts without being guided on the paths of repentance and regret. People indulged in acts of cruelty have their moral compass corrupted, their moral conscience broken down and they are often consumed in a vicious cycle of eternal self-destruction model.

It is extremely important that whenever we come across personality traits of cruelty, manipulation, secrecy or stupidity, don’t get annoyed with such acts or get distressed by it, but rather look upon it as a source of extra knowledge and wisdom on how not to be, such sources provide us with new facts on the character of the individual and the diversity of humanity in multiple ways. However, there exist and we must invoke our right to defend ourselves against acts of cruelty either by individuals in any context or by institutions or by the state.

Why integrity and character are power

On number of occasions, men and women of goodwill will meet with exceptional setbacks, will face hurdles in life, but the paths of glory essentially build on the foundations of integrity and character which solely hold power. It is no longer enough to speak of integrity alone as a standalone objective, but we ought to speak on the integrity of human life and virtues at large, we ought to focus on the greater need to unify all the great values.

In a large scheme of things, human beings must learn that everything is interconnected and that genuine care for social accountability stems from paths of fraternal love, natural ethos of justice and faithfulness to God.

No peace without justice

Forms of cruelty and subtle misuse of available resources find a very fertile terrain for growth when not met with resistance and checks. When society begins to leave part of itself on the fringes, no enforcement agencies can guarantee peace. The evil embedded in the structural DNA of some human beings have a constant potential for social disintegration and unjust means which must be fixed to build a basis of hope for a future of promise and realization.
